Acuity Experience Design
One look, one language, every Acuity app.
AXD is the team behind Beam, Acuity’s shared design system. We give product teams a ready-made foundation — colours, type, spacing, layouts and brand kits — so they ship faster and every app feels like Acuity.
What AXD provides
Think of AXD as a utility: something every product team plugs into, rather than a service each team has to commission.
One shared foundation
A single stylesheet with Acuity’s colours, type, spacing and layouts. Teams add one line to their app and start from on-brand, accessible defaults instead of a blank page.
Brand kits
Each Acuity brand is a small add-on file. The same app can carry a different brand by switching the kit, not by redesigning it.
Layouts and page patterns
Tested page structures — app shells, forms, tables, dashboards, settings — so teams aren’t reinventing the same screens in every product.
Ready for AI-assisted building
Instructions that coding assistants read, so code they generate follows Acuity’s system from the first draft.
Buttons, inputs and other standard controls come from Cantina, built on Beam by Acuity’s front-end team.
Why it matters
Faster delivery
Teams start from finished foundations and patterns, and spend their time on what makes their product different.
Consistent experience
Customers move between Acuity products and recognise them as one company.
Lower risk
Accessibility and brand rules are built in once, centrally, and inherited by every app that uses Beam.
